Three Things To Consider When Hiring A Chauffeur For Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day should be one of the best days of your life. It is important to consider how you plan to travel from your wedding to your reception. Many brides choose to hire a chauffeur to drive her and her new husband on the special day. If you think a chauffeur is the right option for you on your wedding day, it is important to cover a few key details with the chauffeur before agreeing to hire him or her. The following guide walks you through a few factors you may not have thought about taking into consideration, if you have never hired a chauffeur before in the past.

Consider His or Her Attire

You need to specify exactly how you want the chauffeur to be dressed. He or she will be getting out of the car to open the door for you and your husband to get into the car. You want to be sure that he or she is dressed in attire that fits with the look of your wedding; if the groom and the groomsmen are wearing tuxedos, the chauffeur should also wear a tuxedo.

Consider the Route

When you travel from the church to the reception hall, there will more than likely be many different routes that the chauffeur could take. You want to be sure that you specify exactly which route you want him or her to travel to ensure that you get to the reception with as little hassle as possible.

Consider the Number of Trips

If you want to have the chauffeur carry you from the chapel to the reception and then from the reception to the airport for your honeymoon, you need to make that known before any paperwork is signed. Most chauffeurs charge an hourly rate. That means that if the chauffeur has to sit outside of your reception waiting for you and your husband to finish celebrating, you will have to pay them for every hour that they are waiting. Be sure you know what the entire cost will be for their services before agreeing to hire them.

Once you have finalized all of the details of your big day, be sure to get everything in writing. Include the date, locations, times, and attire requirements in the paperwork. This will ensure that both you and the chauffeur know what is expected, so that no one can claim that they expected something to go differently than it did on your special day.
